An award-winning multi-media artist, Alex has been working primarily in the education arena the past three years, specifically with young students and at-risk youth. His work last year included producing and directing a short documentary for the Buck Institute for Education, as well as projects for the Kellogg Foundation’s youth-centered New Options program. He has worked on television commercials for both ACE and the Albuquerque Academy.
An experience creative director and photographer, work assignments have taken him from rural India to the rice fields of Bali to the plight of troubled youth in South Central, L.A. Critics have praised him; both as a director of unique and poetic vision, and a documentarian who conveys a strong sense of the people and places he covers.
In addition to his film and TV work, Alex also has composed music for television and film, including projects for “Friday Night Lights”, “Life”, “The Bionic Woman” and his song was recently featured in the sci-fi film "Darkening Skies". He is an advisory board member to Dreamyard Los Angeles and new media consultant to Los Angeles County Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky.
