International filmmaker and L.A. native, Lupe De Los Angeles has worked in the entertainment industry just shy of a decade. Lupe kicked off her career shooting a short subject educational documentary in Europe, "Famiglia and Friends", which she wrote, directed, edited and produced for The World Classroom organization.
Lupe has produced several independent TV pilot presentations, including original scripted comedies, docu-reality shows, and children's programming. Lupe also co-created and produced the highly successful live teen sketch comedy show "The Izzy Show" at Universal City Walks Jon Lovitz Comedy club.
Lupe has worked for Sony Pictures as an Analyst and has produced and edited multi-media projects for corporate clients including Leo Burnett and Peer Music. Additionally, Lupe has conducted sit-down interviews with high profile talent including Will Smith, and Academy Award winners Guillermo Navarro (Pan’s Labyrinth), Beatrice De Alba (Frida), and Richard Chew (Star Wars) among others.
Fall of 2012, Lupe wrote Season 3 of Disney Interactive’s That’s Fresh a cooking show with Chef Helen Cavallo which airs on Disney Jr. Lupe went on to write Season 1 for the show’s Spanish-language South American mid-format debut, That’s Fresh – Colombia, for lifestyle channel Canal Tr3ce Fall 2013.
An independent filmmaker at heart, she is currently working on a documentary about marginalized teens in Tijuana’s most economically depressed neighborhood with Jovenes Constructores, a non-profit youth development organization. Lupe is also actively involved in sharing her craft with 5th grade school children as a Head Mentor for Young Storytellers Foundation.
Prior to becoming a filmmaker, Lupe worked in the urban and economic development field as a consultant and Economic Development Specialist in the SF/Bay Area to several nonprofits and local businesses. Lupe attended undergrad at UC Santa Cruz and currently lives in Los Angeles.
