Born in a maternity ward on the fifth floor of the Los Angeles Downtown Hospital in 1988, Lan's first exposure to technology was her parent's boom box and cassette recorder. Lan discovered popular music on July 4th, 1996 when she and her sister played around with an old hand-held radio and stumbled upon Radio Disney. Since then, Lan has become a singer-songwriter and filmmaker. She recently received her Bachelors of Arts from Barnard College in the history of science and society in May 2010. As a historian, she wishes that she could better predict the future.
