Laura Lechner is a filmmaker who also dabbles in the realms of theater, music and puppetry. She has directed several short films, including Kind of Blue, Stalker, Cherry Apple, and An Odyssey, a collaboration with theater artist David Hanzal. In addition to her fiction work, she recently completed a documentary, "Understanding Jason McGuire," which she co-directed with Joe Valenzuela. She has a degree in theater arts from the University of Minnesota, and is a graduate of the well-regarded cinema division at Minneapolis Community and Technical College. Through her work, Laura strives to find the poetry in everyday existence.
