Antione Javon Jones was born April 27, 1990 in Detroit, Michigan to parents Janice
Green and Clarence Jones III. Music became a very significant factor in his life at
a young age, growing up listening to artists such as Tupac, The Roots, and Nas. At
the age of eleven, Jones began to notice he possessed a talent with words and the
ability to create unique rhymes and clever metaphors. At age fifteen, he started to
take this talent seriously and began to work towards building a career as an artist.
DJ Quik, one of Jones Favorite MC’s, held a strong influence, inspiring the rap name:
Quik Kash is heavily influenced by jazz, old school, hip-hop, r and b, and poetry. These
influences shine through in his songs, the beats are smooth and laid-back while his lyrics
glide over them. Quik Kash creates songs using a mixture of early 90’s hip-hop and r
and b with a new school twist. This allows for his work to receive attention from all
audiences. Older crowds can appreciate the meaningful lyrics and easy-going beats, while
still keeping the younger crowds interested with his relatable content and upbeat hits.
Quik Kash was a part of the group “Trey-Set” which was constructed of five high school
friends, but after disagreements and differences of opinion, the quintet was dissolved.
Quik Kash now works in a partnership with close friend and Michigan rapper/producer
Jay Adams, the two go by the name “Sole Men.”
On January 1, 2010, Quik Kash released his first Project. A mixtape entitled “Something
Different” which includes hits such as” On My Mind”, “Do My Own Thing”, and “Sole
Men” ft. Jay Adams.
Quik Kash resides in Redford, Michigan and is currently working on his second project
entitled “Never Slackin’” which will include collaborations with several Detroit and
Michigan dwelling artist. In the meantime he spends all of his time either in the studio
recording or out of the studio writing and booking shows, performing at various events
