Lindsey French is an artist and educator based in Chicago. Motivated by an optimism for respectful collaboration, her work uses technological mediation to search for new forms of communication with the natural world. She received her Master of Fine Arts in Art and Technology Studies at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2013. She is a recipient of a Propeller Fund in Chicago as a collaborator with The Plug-In Studio, and was a nominee of the 2013 Clare Rosen & Samuel Edes Foundation Prize for Emerging Artists. Her work has been presented at the Chicago Cultural Center, and exhibited at the International Symposium of Electronic Arts in Albuquerque, New Mexico, theLeRoy Neiman Center in Chicago, Illinois, and the Ox-Bow School of Art in Saugatuck, Michigan. She currently teaches at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in the Art & Technology Studies and the Contemporary Practices departments, and as a visiting lecturer at Smith College in Northampton, MA.
