Louis Paxton grew up making films in Edinburgh, Scotland. A genre enthusiast, Louis is committed to building a career as a writer and director of exciting and original comedy, sci-fi, horror, action and musical content for film and Television. He has always been ambitious in terms of his vision.
Louis cut his teeth on several low budget shorts, graduating with a BA from the RSAMD in 2009. His grad film CHOREOMANIA won two best undergraduate RTS awards and another at CMF. In 2010, his no budget short FOOL PROOF took the Jim Poole audience award.
Louis embarked on his masters at the NFTS, developing his visual storytelling via collaboration and the school’s extensive facilities to produce bigger, bolder films. His recent shorts have screened at numerous festivals worldwide, winning various awards including best comedy at the 2013 Van D’or Awards for his black comedy/drama DOLLFACE and a further two awards for his no budget short VOODOO MOUSTACHE.
Having graduated and secured representation, Louis is now focussed on furthering his career as a writer and director of film and television. Louis is currently developing a number of genre-splicing projects for both TV and Film alongside the BBC, Hartswood Films and Creative Scotland. His latest comedy-drama short, SATAN HAS A BUSHY TAIL was completed as part of Film London’s ‘London Calling’ scheme.
