Award-winning film director Billy Kent creates memorable characters that make people laugh. Billy has just wrapped his second feature film, HairBrained, starring Brendan Fraser, Alex Wolff, Parker Posey, Julia Garner, Fred Melamed and Austin Pendleton. Billy's first feature The Oh In Ohio (2006) starring Parker Posey, Paul Rudd, Danny DeVito, Heather Graham and Mischa Barton premiered at SXSW and according to The Boston Globe “is one of the sweetest, smartest sex comedies I’ve ever seen.”
IN addition to SXSW, The Oh in Ohio won the Vail Film Festival, premiered in Europe at eh Edinburgh Film Festival, and competed at the Deauville Film Festival. The film was distributed theatrically and on DVD by HBO. Billy's 11 short films have been screened both in the US and internationally. His Five Shorts (1992) won the Monte Carlo Film Festival.
Billy is one third of Love Lane Pictures, with his producer Sarah Bird and his writing partner Adam Wierzbianski. They all live in Brooklyn, New York.
Billy is a graduate of Vassar College and The American Film Institute.
