My foundation in design is centered around time-based Media. My undergraduate studies focused on the production, planning, filming, and editing of film based and digital video. This also included studies in digital compositing, animation, and virtual reality.
After college, I worked at a small production company called Corvey Creative, where I created short television spots and animations. I then became the Digital Media Specialist at an organization called LearnNC, where I conceptualized and created free educational materials in the form of videos, animations, and info graphics for schools across North Carolina.
Currently in graduate school, my main research focuses on interaction design, and methods for creating simple yet elegant interactive media. Specifically, I am working to develop art and interfaces that are controlled by users’ movements and gestures through motion detection technology. But ultimately, my work centers around the user and telling a digital narrative.
