I'm a Tokyo based art director, who goes under the alias of OKON. My approach to creative projects comes from a passion to play the roles of craftsman and inventor in order to visually and conceptually bring an idea to life.
I specialize in art direction and graphic design, with a focus on advertising, social media, and film. That goes without saying that I also find myself involved in unique projects from time to time as a photographer or illustrator.
Up until the end of 2015, I worked at Wieden+Kennedy Tokyo for 10 years as a senior designer, collaborating with clients such as Honda, Nike Japan, Google, MTV, Sony Playstation Japan, Sony VAIO, and Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream. I have taken on the role of designer, art director, photographer, illustrator, and animator interchangeably throughout many projects that I have been a part of.
Some of my accolades include having my personal work featured in publications such as STASH MEDIA, and Rock Port, being invited to speak at Plus+ International Conference in Birmingham, England about experimental typography and exhibiting personal work at the Gutenberg Museum in Mainz, Germany.
I was born in Krakow, Poland, but grew up and studied design production at the SCHOOLOFDESIGN, and design theory at YSDN in Toronto, Canada.
Oh... and my favorite drink is a White Russian.
