Marielle Boland is a seventeen year old filmmaker who will be attending San Diego State University in the fall. She is in her third year in the Factory and participated in the California State Summer School for the Arts (CSSSA) for film. After completing the CSSSA session of 2013, Marielle was awarded as a California Arts Scholar. Marielle’s films Dream, Choices, Amaranthine, and Loveseat have been featured in numerous film festivals. During her first semester of Junior year, Marielle participated with nine of her peers to curate Screenagers, a Bay Area youth film festival. Marielle thinks it’s important to inspire a positive change in all her films by telling her viewers not what to think, but simply to think about the issues at hand.
