For over 15 years, Mark Abouzeid has been supporting NGOs, public institutions and international media channels deliver their messages through images, words and video. Combining years of experience in the field as an award winning professional, he specializes in promoting “that which binds us as human beings and how we express this through our own culture”.
As a freelance photographer based in Florence, Italy, Abouzeid offers many freelance photography services from commercial, corporate and advertising through to specific editorial commissions and oral history projects. He has a large amount of Rights Managed stock photography available through his archives, as well for license through Photoshot and Behance.
In the course of his work as a photojournalist, Mark Abouzeid has come to specialize in projects relating to oral traditions, culture and heritage of people around the world including Jordanian Bedouin, Moroccan Berbers and Senagalese tribesmen. His current work for OralMed involves the oral histories of the numerous maritime cultures surrounding the Mediterranean Sea.
Abouzeid’s fine art collections have been or are currently exhibited in numerous museums including Palazzo Vecchio, Accademia della Crusca, Museu de Valencia d’Etnologia, Pitti Uomo, Bedouin Heritage Foundation and Museu Maritima, Barcelona. His works have been purchased by galleries and private collectors in the US, Europe and Asia.
