Award-winning composer, MATTEO ZINGALES, is considered one of the creative world’s next generation leaders in composition for film, television and new media.

Most recently, Matteo wrote the original score for NOT SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN directed by Academy-Award® nominee Peter Templeman and starring Ryan Kwanten (TRUE BLOOD). The film is scheduled for a 2013 US limited release. Also scheduled for release in 2013 is the feature documentary DREAM RACER, which features over 80 minutes of Matteo’s original music.

In 2012, Matteo received the Best Original Score AACTA Award for his evocative score for critically acclaimed film THE HUNTER (2011), starring Academy Award® nominee Willem Dafoe, Sam Neil and Frances O’Connor. The AACTAs are considered Australia’s most prestigious film awards. His original score was also nominated for Best Music Score for the 2012 Film Critics Circle of Australia Awards. A natural collaborator, has provided additional score for 33 POSTCARDS (2011) starring Guy Pearce and UNFINISHED SKY (2007) starring William McInnes and directed by Peter Duncan. He also wrote the score for the independent feature, BROKEN SUN (2010).

Matteo has written original score for over 300 episodes of prime-time television, including the soon-to-air Australian ABC miniseries, DEVIL’S DUST, REDFERN NOW and the critically acclaimed two-part detective series DRIPPING IN CHOCOLATE starring David Wenhem.

For his DRIPPING IN CHOCOLATE score, Matteo has been nominated for the prestigious Australian 2012 Screen Music Award for Best Music for a Mini-Series or Telemovie. He has been recognized for his contemporary and emotional original score for the smash-hit series such as WINNERS & LOSERS and ALL SAINTS, which ran for over 10 years on Australian TV and for which Matteo composed the original score for 3 years and for which Matteo received 2 nominations for Best Music for a Television Series or Serial in 2010 and 2011. Both series are in syndication around the world.

In addition to his TV work, Matteo received the 2011 Australian Screen Music Award for Best Music for a Documentary for his stirring score for LACHLAN MACQUARIE: THE FATHER OF AUSTRALIA, a BBC Scotland production. He also created original scores for award-winning short films and documentaries, most notably for BLUE POLES (2004), starring Sam Worthington, and for SPLINTERED (2005), directed by Academy Award® nominee Peter Templeman.
