Lara Mezzapelle (1972) and Giacomo Deriu (1975) live and work between Bologna and Barcelona.
Their artistic research, born out of sharing personal and professional artistic careers, explores the new possibilities offered by digital language to develop New Media Art works, such as interactive video installations and installations/sculptures modeled on 3D graphics software and built by laser prototyping.
In their work, they focus attention on the spatiotemporal peculiarities of contemporary life, opening the discussion to universal existential questions.
graduated with top grades from the Department of Psychology at University of Bologna in 1998. She subsequently pursued research there, investigating interactions between art and the emotions.
In 2004, she completed a second degree at the Accademia di Belle Arti, Bologna, specializing in sculpture.
obtained a degree in arts in 2002 at “Accademia di Belle Arti di Bologna”, where he studied painting and graphics.
Since 1998 he has been working as graphic designer, specializing in 3d graphics, postproduction and interactive application programming.
