The exquisite alchemy between the man, the camera lens and the subject, have made Nick Ghionis a Master Photographer. His images capture our dreams!
Nick’s meteoric rise in the international world of photography has been nothing less than remarkable. Although his career spans over 25 years, it was at the insistence of several Industry heavyweights that he was finally persuaded, in 2006, to present his work on a competitive level.
And so started the upward trajectory! Today a multi-international award winner, Nick’s most recent awards include ‘2014 Wedding Photo of the Year,’ awarded by the Australian Institute of Professional Photography, for his striking satirical take on the infamous painting ‘American Gothic’. It also won GOLD and First Place at the World Photographic Cup 2014, against numerous entrants from 22 countries across four continents.
His achievements include being awarded ‘Victorian Wedding Photographer of the Year’ (2014 and 2011), and ‘Victorian Photographer of the Year’ (2011). He has held the prestigious title of Master Photographer with the AIPP, for consistent award winning since 2006 and is a Double Master of Photography with the American peak body; Wedding and Portrait Photographers International, also for his consistency in award winning images.
Today Nick Ghionis is constantly invited to deliver guest appearances, talks and workshops to seasoned professionals and up-and-coming photographers around the world. Since 2009 keynote addresses have been presented at the AIPP, National Convention in Sydney; the SWPP Convention in London; WPPI in Las Vegas, and PWS in Athens. His generosity in knowledge-sharing is renowned; apart from undertaking international photographic gigs; educational workshops have been delivered in Australia, Malaysia, Hong Kong, the United Kingdom, Greece, France, Fiji, Vietnam and the USA.
Since 2004, as Director of Xsight Photography, Nick has delivered an international photographic brand. Under his leadership, Xsight Photography can now be found in Melbourne, Sydney and Darwin in Australia and Sacramento, USA.
