A professionally trained actor; Olaf graduated from Australiaʼs prestigious Victorian College of the Arts with a Post Graduate Diploma in Dramatic Arts after having previously completed a Bachelor of Performing Arts from the University of Tasmania which led to work primarily as a principle actor in theatre.
He has since been acting extensively in short film over the past 7 years where his work has been described as deeply informed with a screen presence and gravitas not often seen. He has attracted much praise in the lead role of Joe in Sanctuary Park; the powerful and honest Screen Australia short depicting one day in the life of a couple who survived a firestorm and more recently has starred in the lead role of Jack in the short film First Contact which has screened at Palm Springs, New York, Denver and London film festivals plus many more around the globe. In addition to these successes is the leading role of Heinrich in the German/Russian language film, The Land Between, which, along with First Contact had its Australian premier in official selection at the 61st Melbourne international Film Festival. In 2014, another of his films, What Remains, will screen at the 36th Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival.
On Television Olaf has been seen in the roles of Dave Sharpe in RUSH, Pete Hadley in Neighbours and Detective Sol in the Australian crime series Underbelly - Fat Tony & Co as well as appearances in The Slap, The Mystery of a Hansom Cab and Henry in Mr & Mrs Murder. He can also be seen in the current Eftpos (I am King) and Energex TV advertisements.
