This is confessional cinema – a three to four minute video story constructed from an associative flow of thoughts & feelings with a single personal subject matter, excerpted from my long form videoJournals.
this is an audio-visual format of the textJournals that i have previously been writing for fifty years. now, instead of writing, i stand in front of camera, with lights on me, a green screen behind, two lapel-mikes pinned to my shirt, and speak spontaneously. i transcribe the words i've spoken into a script, and bring the audio & video data into an editing program, FinalCutPro, and edit the material for clearest thought and best expressed feelings in my monthly videoJournal.
i am, at this writing, eighty years old. i was born in europe and have lived in copenhagen, paris and berlin for about twenty years, then sixty here in the usa, in new york primarily, and san francisco and boston areas. i have worked in many art disciplines – architecture, fashion, performance, dance and filmmaking, and shared my lives with several extraordinary companions who have immensely deepened my life, and i am fortunate to witness my two children grow up into middle age.
this is my account of my journey through life and my dedication to transparency of the thoughts & feelings of my personal journey.
