"Equal parts candid rumination and jaw-dropping performance all taking place on the rocky peninsulas and pine-lined shores of a location Wes Anderson would drool over. It's a cohesive work whose frames and choruses compliment each other with each downbeat and shadow." - The Village Voice
This collection of songs was recorded live on location in Mayne Island, B.C., for the feature-length documentary film, The Sea In Between, in which the Mason Jar Music team offer us their own vision for a possible future of distributed media: a full audio-visual album. In essence, an LP of sights and sounds. Together with the intrepid Josh Garrels, his wife and toddlers in tow, they filmed and recorded a dozen live performances in less than a week and have woven them together with documentary vignettes exploring Josh's hand-built career, the process of collaboration on Mayne Island, B.C., and the challenges and rewards of being an artist in the 21st century.
