The Truck Files series of movies was shot in order to show as many facets of the trucking industry as possible.
Shot throughout New Zealand, it shows a huge variety of truck brands, applications and some of New Zealand's great scenery while trucks are working in the remote back-blocks of the country.
This was the first of the Truck Files series and while it might have been shot before the turn of the century - the footage here is as timeless as the landscapes that these rigs work amongst.
Volume one has livestock trucks forwarding the Macauly River in the MacKenzie high-country, and numerous other scenes of rigs at work in the bush, farms and other places known mainly to truckies.
Filmed over a decade ago - many of these trucks have been since retired - however others just like them have filled their boots as there is plenty more work still to be done....
Shot in SD during 1998-99, this video has captured unique aspects of the New Zealand backcountry that are disappearing....such as the last of the native heli-logging on the West Coast, livestock haulage in the backcountry of Tekapo, and logging in the Sounds.
