The Public Design Workshop is a research studio in the Digital Media program in the School of Literature, Communication, and Culture, at the Georgia Institute of Technology.
We explore how design contributes to the construction of publics, articulates contemporary social and political issues, and fosters new forms of public engagement with technology. We do this through speculative design, design research, participatory workshops and events, and theory & criticism.
We are currently working in the areas of community robotics, participatory sensing, and critical visualization and mapping.
