Rachel Elizabeth Seed is a London-born, Brooklyn-based writer, photographer and filmmaker. Her photographs have been exhibited in Russia, Germany and around the US, garnering awards from the Maine Media Workshops, the Kentucky Foundation for Women and 3rd Ward Gallery in Brooklyn, amongst others. Most recently her photographs appeared at ICP and the Museum of the City of New York’s exhibit “Rising Waters: Photographs of Hurricane Sandy”. In 2012, Seed organized the “Occupy!” exhibit for the International Center of Photography and this fall helped organize Photo District News’s collaborative exhibit with the Annenberg Photography Space in Los Angeles. Since 2006 she has produced "The Motherless Project," a multimedia series that explores what it means to grow up motherless. As a Director of Photography and Filmmaker, her short film "The Cornell Capa Legacy Project: A Conversation with Anna Winand" was screened in fall 2013 at Amsterdam’s On Photography Film Festival. In fall 2013, the trailer for "A Photographic Memory" was selected by Time Inc. Director of Photography Kira Pollack for the NYC XV11 Slidefest, as part of Photoville in Brooklyn Bridge Park.
