Filmmaker Raquel Cedar has studied directing, writing, and production design at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. She enjoys making films that examine the human condition through the prism of an alternate universe. Cedar's films ultimately emphasize not only the importance of creativity, but the value of exploring new worlds through the use of imagination. She has won the California Governors Arts Scholar Award in Film and Writing and has had her films screened at such notable venues as the Imperial Beach, Newport Beach International, and The Other Venice Beach Film Festivals. Additionally, her Advanced Experimental film "Gideon Verite" was the recipient of the Audience Award at First Run 2009. She currently works freelance in the Art Department on various commercials, music videos, and feature films.
