Ali is a cinephile and globetrotter who has been lucky enough to have lived in five countries and traveled to over thirteen. In 2009 his short film ‘eat roses’, shot entirely on location in Cambodia, was an official selection of the NSI (National Screen Institute) online short film festival. His second short, ‘Meathead’, was screened at Vancouver’s famed Celluloid Social Club and the Port Moody Film Festival. In 2010 Ali worked as First Assistant under the acclaimed Cinematographer Farhad Saba on the independent film Black Noise, directed by renowned Iranian filmmaker Behrooz Afkhami.
