Rebecca Gruihn is an independent filmmaker, film instructor, video editor and media specialist based in Toronto, Canada.
Rebecca Gruihn works in an auteur fashion writing, directing and producing her own films. She often chooses to focus on controversial yet personal themes that comment on contemporary society. Her style is highly visual and influenced by the independent art-house tradition of filmmaking. To date, she has created a collection of short films that have played in a variety of international film festivals including the Montreal World Film Festival, the Moving Images Festival in Toronto and the Hollywood student film festival. Her film, Our Future is Bright (2009), won Best Student Cinematography at the Canadian Society of Cinematographers Awards in 2010.
