Sara has lived many places and calls none of them home. Born in Bremerton, Washington, she found herself shuffled across state lines many times throughout her childhood as her family moved from place to place. Her method of coping (and, arguably, acting out) was choosing the life of an artist. After a lifetime of drawing on living room walls and doodling on notebook paper, she decided to capitalize on her interest and moved to Minneapolis, where she earned her BFA in animation at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design in 2006. She then cured a severe earthquake deficiency by moving to California, where she earned an MFA in Experimental Animation at CalArts in 2012. She has been making animated films since 2005. Sara's films have screened at Channel Frederator and festivals such as the Palm Springs International Festival of Short Films, Animation Block Party, Hawaii International Film Festival, LA Femme Film Festival, Los Angeles Animation Festival and Castuka TV.
Sara lives and works in Los Angeles, CA.
