Sherif Fathy Salem is a documentary films’ author, producer and director, certified EU AudioVisual expert, member of European Documentary Network and Arab documentary films’ association. He was born in Cairo / Egypt, where he graduated first in Architecture (1990) then in Film directing (1994), his first documentary “A Palace of Clay” participated in several international festivals where it was awarded. In 1997 he moved to Italy joining ART satellite network as producer, director and host. In 2005 he founded SPOT1.tv; an independent film production house based in Italy. He produced, authored and directed several documentaries as: “that Alexandria” , “The Italians of Egypt” , “The traces of the Sicilian Muslims” , “The new Italians” and “Clandestini; illegal immigrants in Italy”. Most of his documentaries were screened in prestigious cultural sites, acquired by universities’ media libraries, broadcasted on international prominent networks and participated in important festivals and film events.
