SYNOPSIS: The ee-waa-kee performance is somewhat of an unconventional performance for Adem Jaffers. Invited to VJ live imagery to a selection of music (live and pre-recorded) for the New Music Australia radio shows Contemporary Music Awards held at the incredible Iwaki Auditorium in Melbourne - broadcasted live on ABC Classical 105.9 FM and hosted by John Crawford c1997. The selection of artists were an array of diverse and eclectic classically trained performers with international measure in their genre. In this visual piece Adem decided to limit himself to 2 layers of animation, to use only small moving shapes in varying directions, combinations and formations. He was somewhat inspired by the painter Wassily Kandinski and how shapes were used to represent notes of musical composition in an abstract yet defined language. In this video liberty has been taken to edit down only the music Adem performed too, cutting in sequences of artist introductions and a section of the final ceremony with winner of the award to Steve Law's (Zen Paradox) piece.
