Dr. Scherer's research examines the structure and function of the human genome and how specific genetic alterations can lead to medical conditions. His team is currently examining the role of genes in Autism Spectrum and related disorders. The experimental approaches his group uses include genome scanning and sequencing methods and advanced informatic analyses.
