April 24, 11:41 AM, begin: Riding from Anderson Point Park, Mile post 17, 6-1/2 mile section of the Neuse River Greenway, Raleigh, NC: I now have clips of all 27.5 miles... upstream and downstream. If I had to pick just one clip to represent a sample of Lower Neuse, this is the one. Upper Neuse is also worth seeking out:
Anderson Point Park to Brownfield road is between Mile posts 17 and 24, with mile posts every 1/4 mile.
20 boardwalk/bridges are scattered the full length At mile 19-1/4 is the Walnut Creek bridge and is quite long and a nice view of the Walnut Creek mouth. At mile 21 find RiverRidge (a golf community) bridge. It is nearly 1/4 mile long, and is quite visually impressive at this time of year. A more entertaining trip across the bridge is found at RiverRidge, Neuse River Greenway, Boardwalk Bridge.
At mile 23-1/4 is NC State Agriculture field with beautiful white fences along the greenway. Throughout many trips in a year, I get to see a lot of activity from tilling the fields, fertilizer, growing and the harvest activities. Crop rotation is very apparent from year to year.
