A transnational multimedia survey on Child Marriage.
Nayane is 15 and mother of a 10 month years old. In Brazil, Child Marriage has its own characteristics: the non-officiality of the unions, the non-passive rol of girls in them, and the early pregnancy as a cause of "marriage" and not as a consequence. Nayane never got married to the father of her child before he was killed in a police operation against drug trafficking, so she is now a single mother of a baby. She was not dragged into this situation, as the other girls in Ethiopia or India have been, but the consequences they face are very similar.
Christiane Pereira got married about 20 years ago, when she got pregnant after being in an informal union with a man for two years. She was 16. Now, divorced, she recognize this pattern in the girls of the favela she was born in.
