Most Americans get their health insurance through their employers, making them important partners for State and Local Health Departments in the pursuit to increase coverage for evidence-based chronic disease prevention and management programs. This webinar introduces two exciting new initiatives to support your engagement and partnership with small and large employers to decrease the burden of chronic disease.
• First, the National Diabetes Prevention Program (National DPP) Employer Learning Collaborative, is a unique opportunity from CDC and NACDD to assist select states in engaging large employers to cover the National DPP lifestyle change program.
• Second, the Connect to Wellness program was developed by the University of Washington to increase adoption of evidence-based health promotion practices in small worksites. It provides employers with tailored recommendations and intervention support via State or Local Health Department staff trained to work directly with local worksites.
