Session 6 - October 22, 2019
What Will We Be When We Grow Up? Hudl is a 13-year-old sports technology company founded and headquartered in Lincoln, Neb. We employ over 2,000 people in more than a dozen countries. We’re not a startup. But we were not long ago. We’re not a small company. But we were not long ago. And yet we’re also not a big company. Perhaps we’ll be one someday soon. We don’t feel like a big corporation, and we’d like to keep it that way. We don’t want to lose our entrepreneurial edge. How can we continue to attract and blend hungry innovators (rule breakers) with operations gurus (rule makers) and scale a profitable global business?
Jasmine Kingsley is the Vice President of Legal and People at Hudl, a sports video technology company based in Lincoln, NE. She has spent the past 4 years building and leading Hudl’s Legal team as its General Counsel, and recently joined forces with her colleague, Kyle Murphy, to co-lead Hudl’s People Operations team. Jasmine was a technology and IP transactions attorney in Silicon Valley before relocating to Lincoln.
Mom to an infant, a toddler, and a bulldog, she manages stress and maintains balance through a dedicated mindfulness, meditation, and yoga practice, which she’s been sharing in her community as a registered yoga teacher for the past 5 years.
Jasmine currently serves on the boards of The Foundry and Rabble Mill. She holds a BA in International Relations from the University of Pennsylvania and a JD from Harvard Law School.
Kyle Murphy is the Vice President of People & Corporate Communication at Hudl, a sports video technology company headquartered in Lincoln, Neb. Until recently, he led a team of 20 product and user interface designers who envision the future of Hudl's tools for coaches, analysts, and athletes. Now, Kyle and his close colleague, Jasmine Kingsley, recruit, develop and retain top talent from across the world to innovate at Hudl.
Kyle also founded the professional meetup group, Nebraska UX, which now boasts more than 900 members. You’ll find Kyle presenting and speaking in student lecture halls and at regional tech, design, and entrepreneurship events. His consistent message is "Everyone is a Designer, Whether You Like it or Not."
