Its always a great day to install F WAVE, but we do have some temperature requirements to ensure that the glue on the laps seals properly. The minimum conditions are 50 degrees and sunny. This will ensure that the surface temperature is at least 74 degrees. If temperatures are in the 50s but overcast, check the surface temperature with a temperature gun to ensure it has reached the 74 degree mark, or higher. Temperatures falling below the requirements overnight on a 2 day or longer installation is NOT a problem. Just make sure temperatures are met when actively installing the product, and walk the lap area to ensure a good bond.
Tabs that do not seal due to temperature or contamination will require a return visit to seal down manually, so please keep the weather in mind when scheduling your installation.
If product is being roof loaded, do not straddle bundles over ridge, keep them stored flat on either side of the ridge.
The required tools for F WAVE installation that may vary from a typical asphalt installation are:
· A chalk line with BLUE chalk. Use of red chalk on the shingles will cause staining.
· A straight blade knife. Hook blades do not work well on F WAVE products.
· A heat gun for shingle surface repairs.
· An approved sealant. There are 4 sealants approved for use with F WAVE.
> NPC Solar Seal #900
> OSI Quad
> Mule-Hide SEBS 1
> Lucas Universal #6600
Use of any other sealant or variation of these sealants is not approved and will not properly bond.
