BNEF Summit Shanghai, November 30th - December 1st 2021
ICEF has developed roadmaps for several negative emission technologies. Last year's roadmap introduced a new term – ‘Biomass Carbon Removal and Storage (BiCRS)’ – which explores ways to use biomass to remove CO2 from the atmosphere and store that CO2 underground or in durable products. This year's roadmap is ‘Carbon Mineralization’. There are two broad approaches to carbon mineralization: injecting CO2‐rich fluids into rock formations deep underground and exposing crushed rocks on the Earth’s surface to CO2‐bearing gases. This workshop explores the challenges in research and policy, feasibility and potentials of these technologies.
