Since she was a child Sofia Reis revealed her passion for acting.
Her film debut took place in "Sostiene Pereira," a 1994 Italian film opposite Marcello Mastroianni, whose filming took place in Lisbon, with the soundtrack of the renowned Maestro Ennio Morricone. Naturally this cinematic experience definitely marked her willingness to take the career as an actress in a professional manner.
In 1997 she attended the only private school training of actors in Portugal, IAE - Institute of Performing Arts, while she was playing small roles in film and television.
Since 2000 and until now she has participated in several workshops in the renowned portuguese ACT School of Actors.
In 2010 she attended the course in Meisner Technique, taught by the american actor and screenwriter,
In the same year Sofia Reis was also awarded with the Best Actress Augusta Award in the 8th edition of the Bragacine - International Festival of Independent Cinema of Braga Portugal. Acording to Sofia it has been a big incentive to insist on her acting career giving wings to her dream.
In 2012 she was nominated for Best Actress for the thriller "Faminto" at Cineuphoria Awards 2012 and in 2013 she was also nominated for Best Supporting Actress for the independent feature-film "Além de Ti" at Cineuphoria Awards 2013.
