Winnie Soon (a.k.a siusoon) is an artist and media specialist with a background in digital media and technology. She is awarded the Thomas Fowler scholarship and currently studying a Master in Digital Art and Technology in University of Plymouth, U.K. She also holds a Master in Media Cultures with Distinction in School of Creative Media, City University of Hong Kong.
She has extensive commercial experience in managing multimedia projects including online media, mobile media and Internet Protocal Television for prestigious and leading-edge media and telecommunication companies. Through organizing a wide range of entertainment & lifestyle projects such as online search campaign, multimedia content download, instant messaging, interactive infotainment application, video streaming, surveillance & High Definition TV, she also gained rich product, technical and marketing knowledge.
As an artist, her media art piece ranged from mobile video to screen-based interactive media. Her work often explores the intersection of art and technology through a variety of medium including projections, electronics means, and technological production and had been exhibited in Korea, USA, Germany, Hong Kong and the U.K.,
siusoon is the founder of InNoPO, a trans-disciplinary collective dedicated to the research, development, production and experimentation of contemporary art. She had recently curated an International trans-disciplinary project – VoxBox, which focuses on remediation on various media forms. Her research interest is the interaction and transformation in dynamic complex system associated with digital objects.
