Rosario is a woman who has married Don Carlos for his money and doesn’t really love him. One day Rosario meets an engineer named Julio and starts an affair. The relationship between Julio and Rosario is one based upon love but Rosario refuses to leave Don Carlos, who has fallen ill, and the relationship between Rosario and Julio ends.

Twenty years later we find out that Julio has died and Miguel, the second son of Rosario, has been willed Julio’s fortune. This causes great stress within the family as Rosario must confront secrets from the past as well as deal with the fact that the only man she ever loved was now gone.
