The main tank called the "Kuroshio Sea" holds 7,500-cubic meters (1,981,290 gallons) of water and features the world's second largest acrylic glass panel. Whale sharks and manta rays are kept amongst many other fish species in the main tank. All shot on the Canon 5D2 and processed in Adobe After Effects. The majority of the shots are in my beautiful home state of Arizona. Goblin Valley State Park and Natural Bridges National Monument in Utah also make an appearance. Every clip is a RAW image sequence (5616 x 3744) that I rendered out as a 1080P 23.976fps Quick Time movie. The motion control is achieved using servo motors.

Follow http://twitter.com/boltron for the latest I shot a photo roughly every two miles between take-off in San Francisco and landing in Paris CDG to make this airplane time lapse. Big thanks to the folks at http://uxlondon.com for inviting me to europe to speak - if it wasn't for them I wouldn't have made the trip. Shot with a 5d2, a time-lapse controller, and a 16mm - 35mm, mixed with some iPhone shots. The music is a modified template "Gain" used with permission from DETUNE ltd. denkitribe http://soundcloud.com/denkitribe/gain - I arranged on the Korg iMS20 iPad App. Edits and pans in After Effects CS5 and iMovie. The photos during take-off and landing are all computer models and totally rendered because I would never use an electronic device when the FAA prohibits them. I did get lucky and have a whole row to myself to setup the tripod and gear. Thanks to my neighbors for not minding an SLR click every 2 to 30 seconds for 11 hours, and thanks to the whole Air France flight crew for being insanely friendly and allowing me to shoot. Thanks to @ztaylor for showing me the Korg iMS20 iPad App. Thanks to @jayzombie and the #nerdbird on the way to SXSW this year for helping me come up with the idea. Thanks to @somnabulent for the idea of live scoring. Thanks to you for actually reading this far. You are a champion.

Hosted by Marco Solorio of OneRiver Media, this video compares the Blackmagic Design Cinema Camera and the Canon 5D Mark III in several tests. This includes dynamic range, sharpness, pushing levels, banding, artifacts, rolling shutter, chromakeying, wide/telephoto lengths, DOF (depth of field), low light, macro blocking, contrast, and more. NEW! Check out our new eBook "Ultimate Comparison Guide to the URSA & CION" at onerivermedia.com/ebooks Check out our follow-up video to this one: "Comparing the Cinema Camera: Part 2, The Impact of 12-bit RAW" https://vimeo.com/52269416 After several DAYS of trying to upload this video to Vimeo, we've ultimately had to reduce the bit-rate compression down to 18mbps (Vimeo recommends 5mbps, ha!), which is down from our minimum quality level of 40mbps. This means the SOURCE file you can download will also inhibit some amount of compression blocking and smearing, even in the Cinema Camera footage, which doesn't originally exist in our ProRes master file. We've tried EVERYTHING, multiple types of uploads, different encoding methods, you name it. Although the downloadable source file is a little better than the streaming version, it still doesn't compare to the original ProRes source file which imposes no banding, compression artifacts, or chrominance sub-sampling (down from 4:4:4 to H.264's 4:2:0 space). Please keep this in mind when viewing. Unfortunately Vimeo only allows 100 downloads per day, so check back to download the 2GB file if the queue is filled. And remember to always watch in FULL 1080 HD or you will have added scaling and moiré issues on some of the tests than what is already been added by Vimeo and our horrid bit-rate restrictions. Thanks for watching. Hope this is as informative for you as it was for me making it. A destitute man, living on city streets liberates a device and escapes to a symphony of light and sound. The idea came about by wanting to play with timelapse as a way of showing different realities. The Maestro obviously sees things differently than most people and by working the timelapse effect into the narrative, it allows us to see the world from his point of view. The Maestro was shot in Sydney, Australia with a crew of four people on the Canon 5D Mark II using only available light. The visual effects featured were all shot in-camera and later composited in post.
