In his fourth release "A Love Surreal", singer and songwriter has continued to record and perform outside the box to critical success. As you might know, Bilal's career has had it's fair share of ups and down but is persistance has gotten him to headline and perform at many venues and festivals all over the world. His "A Love Surreal" has recieved a lot of positive word of mouth and has appreared on many top recordings of 2013. Born Bilal Sayeed Oliver in Philadelphia, Bilal was born into a musical environment. He was raised by his mother who attended church regularly and he sang in the choir as a little kid. His father was avid jazz fan and took young Bilal to the jazz clubs as a teen and was introduced to jazz and soul musicians. It was in his early teens that he decided to perform and study music. Upon graduation he attended the New School in New York City where he befriended and still collaborates with, pianist and producer, Robert Glasper. While in school he began to test the waters as he decided to pursue the record industry. Aaron Comess, of the rock group the Spin Doctors, discovered Bilal and submitted a demo to Interscope Records where he was eventually signed and recorded his debut CD "1st Born Second". Throughout the last decade he dealt with the struggles of working and recording for the majors and his second project "Love For Sale" was never released and was leaked on the internet. Although he continued to tour and also guest appear on other artists projects ranging from rapper Common to soul vocalist Musiq's single "Don't/Her", he continued his grind to maintain his flex as a credible and relevant artist. Close to a decade later Bilal resurfaced with his 3rd CD "Airtight's Revenge". With "A Love Surreal", Bilal has again been a musician that refuses to take risks both as a writer and performer. Currently, he's on the road in support of the new CD. For upcoming info on Bilal's club and tour dates please visit him online at www.bilalmusic.com or www.twitter.com/bilal.+ More details
