(720p Version) This time-lapse sequence was shot purely on AV mode (Canon 5DMK3) with a 14mm Canon Cinema lens. The exposure was set to -1 stops under to ensure the sun would not blow out the entire scene once the clouds separated.

This is a HDR time lapse I did in Marylebone London, yesterday night out of my window. I shot on AV mode and haven't fixed the flicker yet. Will probably follow @NinoLeitner great advice and use Long Exposure plugin for FCP. I shot with the aperture wide open on the Canon 5D Mk II with my Canon 24-105mm Zoom lens at 24mm. I will be shooting tonight at Millenium Dome and do a vast post this week on my blog www.gregrichters.com All of the tests I am doing are for my movie The Last Days on Earth. Thanks to @philipbloom for suggesting Photomatix Tone mapping software for HDR.

This time-lapse was shot in Medford, MA (just outside of Boston) during the Nor'easter on 1.12.11 I started it at midnight and left it running until 7pm. The camera was set to take a shot every 2.5 minutes over the course of those 19 hours. I used AV mode on my Canon 7D. The image sequence was conformed to 12fps and placed on a 24fps timeline with frame-blending enabled. Overall very satisfied. Wish I caught the mess on the window sooner though. We got around 16" here, but only about 13" made it on to the porch I was shooting from because of an overhang. Obviously not as dramatic as the guy from Jersey who captured three feet, but that was just out of my control. Music: Kevin MacLeod

          • Track Dolly Test

from RAINES Media & Design / Added

I was testing out a dolly I made just hours earlier... I used about 16 roller blade wheels which are 20+mm longer then the plans suggested... the metal I used on the bottom is a bit flimsy so I will have to wait a while to find a thicker metal to make this a ride on dolly! The video was shot.. 24Mbps AVCHD, in 24p with the shutter at 100. (Footage was shot at 1920x1080i 60i with 24p flags inside camera... I rendered out the 24p 1280x720p WMV for web use)

My lovely daughter Emmeri. I shot this to demonstrate the differences in how Canon HF100's Modes affect gain (noise/grain). Tv (shutter priority) & Av (aperture priority) mode apply gain even w locked exposure. The best results, in my opinion, are Cinemode w/ locked exposure, it allows for 0 gain & maintains 1/48 shutter speed which avoids rolling shutter artifacts. The same applies to HV20/30 & HF10/11. The lighting was done with 2-150w & 1-75w fluorescent spiral bulbs. For a key, 150w straight forward, fill 150w diffused w umbrella and for backlight 75w.
