In 2014, an investigation by the Autonomous University of Barcelona proved that talking about football helps people with Alzheimer's and incipient dementia by improving their memory, attention and mood. LOLA and Líbero Football Magazine, decided to create a tool to help them: a magazine. Four special editions of Líbero were published, as if they had been published decades ago. The magazines included four therapeutic tools full of the best moments in football history with exercises designed to stimulate the memory of the patients. The magazines were delivered to Alzheimer treatment centres in Barcelona, for specialists to use them as part of therapy. And memories came back. Working with the magazines, patients remembered names, goals and many beautiful moments from their youth.

Cheryl Lotter is a full-time Alzheimer's caregiver in the UK. She's a beautiful, knowledgeable friend who happily agreed to having a discussion with my brother-in-law, Mark (Florida), and me (Ohio) about how to best care for my dad. As I live at a distance, I'm less able to aid, but my dad is continually surrounded by good-hearted people like Mark and my sister, not to mention my mom who is in the midst of my dad's struggle 24/7. Arranging this discussion and getting this video made was something that I could do to be a help. The conversation was conducted and recorded through a video chat program called ooVoo: www.ooVoo.com
