Created in honor of those who have made the Ultimate Sacrifice—the greatest Act of Love—laying down one's life. The music is Stephen Stills' 1971 song "Find the Cost of Freedom," as recorded by Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, and included on their "So Far" album released in 1974. The Poem Daylight again, following me to bed I think about a hundred years ago, how my fathers bled I think I see a valley, covered with bones in blue All the brave soldiers that cannot get older been askin' after you Hear the past a callin', from Armageddon's side When everyone's talkin' and no one is listenin', how can we decide? (Do we) find the cost of freedom, buried in the ground? Mother earth will swallow you, lay your body down Find the cost of freedom, buried in the ground Mother earth will swallow you, lay your body down (Find the cost of freedom buried in the ground)+ More details

I had the unique opportunity to create a special tribute piece for Cheryl Burton and her family after her father, Crisostomo Iluzada Victa ("Chris" informally), passed away at 76. Chris served in the U.S. Navy and had a military funeral at Arlington National Cemetery, surrounded by family and friends from around the world. He was a man of faith and courage, and deeply beloved. Nick and I are grateful for clients that believe in our artistic vision. Cheryl and her family were trusting in our ability to make something beautiful and very thorough in providing background, snapshots, and lineage. We were honored to be a part of this day of both mourning and celebration of a life well lived. We hope it helps to pass his legacy down the line.
