1. Bowfishing Silver Carp in Missouri

    from Mark Olson Added 358 0 0

This is from a project I am doing with the University of Missouri in Columbia. The project is headed by Dr. Mark Morgan, and he is trying to help reduce the number of Silver Carp from our waterways by the promotion of eating and recreationally fishing Silver Carp. Silver Carp, or commonly referred to as Asian Carp, Jumping Carp, or Silver Fin, is an invasive species to our waterways. There is grave concern that they will make it to the great lakes, which would spoil one of the healthiest fisheries that the United States possesses. The Bow-Fisher featured in this film is Guy Lanphere. Guy Lanphere started and runs a bowfishing tournament in Mid-Missouri called the Rough Fish Roundup, his website is http://www.roughfishroundup.com/ Shot with Nikon D7000 Lenses are Sigma wide angle, 35mm Nikon, 300mm Nikon, and a 500mm Sigma Song is "Bad, Bad Love" by Alexander Ebert
