A well-known global technology company approached us with the task of amplifying the in-room experience for a thought leadership event that attracted a number of high-profile attendees. The challenge was preserving the intimacy and focus of the event, while creating a massive projection, lighting and audio experience, all in small ballroom with less than 15’ ceilings. We drastically re-designed the room to allow for more beautiful images, a more flexible event space, and an fresh look and feel. By blending 9 stacks of 18k projectors around 270 degrees of the room, we created a floor-to-ceiling immersive experience that set this event apart from its former "traditional" setup. We projected a seamless image onto three walls of 15,000 x 1080 pixels of completely uncompressed content. By linking our Liquid Scenic system with two Spyder X20's, we were able to put live video, video playback, PowerPoint and custom graphics anywhere and everywhere in the room. We assisted in nearly all levels of content creation. From speaker presentation management, to the creation of custom projection mapped visuals, we worked hand-in-hand with our client's production team to create a cohesive look over two days of show.

‘Voyage’ installation consists of three hundred floating paper boats along Canary Wharf Dock, encasing coloured dynamic LED lights that come alive at night, putting on a spectacular light show. Aether and Hemera’s installation is designed to be an interactive experience; people can engage with the installation and impact on the behaviour of the lights from their mobile phone. The etymon of the word ‘voyage’ comes from Latin ’viāticum’, which means ’provision for travelling’, and the aim of the artwork is to allow viewers to travel and sail with absolute freedom to all the places they care to imagine. ‘Voyage’ has been commissioned by Canary Wharf Group to ‘launch’ their 2013 ‘Sculpture at Work’ programme.

      • Which is Your Brass Voice?

“Which is your brass’s voice?” invites people to discover their brass voice by speaking, singing, shouting or whispering into microphones. Each of the five microphones represents a specific brass instrument: Trumpet, Trombone, Tuba, Muted Trumpet and French Horn sounds are generated capturing the individual nuances of volume, pitch and the intonation of people’s voices. An artificial Intelligence behind the artwork records all the notes performed and will create a new music composition at the end of the event. The sequence of notes gathered from the microphones becomes the seed of a new composition generated from a vast amount of musical knowledge gathered from hundreds of brass scores a note at a time. The brass sounds outputted through surrounding speakers are synchronised with an array of coloured LED lights to create a fully immersive ‘synesthetic’ experience for the visitors. “Synaesthesia” is a condition in which a stimulus in one sensory modality automatically induces a sensation in another, as when the hearing of a sound produces the visualization of a colour. “Which is your brass’s voice?” surrounds the visitors with sounds and colours that respond to their performance and that are based on the synesthetic theory, with particular reference at Scriabin's association of colour and music.
