Have you ever had one of those moments during the day when you just.... check out? When something seemingly normal grabs your attention and before you know it you're somewhere else. Somewhere bizarre or magical. Or both. That's what happens to one woman who stumbles across a rather unique busker one day... This is a short film I wrote and directed, which also happens to be a scene from my first feature in development. It would not have been possible without the help and support of a lot of talented people who gave up their time to make this happen, so take a bow please..... A film about the world being created beneath London. I've made the animation for this live-action+animation short film. It's abstract and trippy. Pipe Dreams is a short film commissioned by the Barbican to mark the passing of Crossrail's Tunnel Boring Machines beneath the Barbican Estate. Granted unique access as the final stretch of the Crossrail project’s tunnelling takes place between Liverpool Street and Farringdon, the film captures the magic of the tunnels in their present state, revealing the underground landscape and contemplating what is being created underneath our feet. Animation by Daniela Sherer (danielasherer.com/), filming by Bevis Bowden (bevisbowdenfilms.co.uk/), and music by LoneLady (lonelady.co.uk). -- Full credits: Locomotive Operator - Billy Kerswell Facilities Engineer - Juan Pablo Perez de la Fuentes Locomotive Foreman - Felix Remacha Tunnel Superintendent - Pat Loughnane Field Engineer - John Collins Safety Manager - Barry Major Communications Officer - Dan Garrity Animation - Daniela Sherer Filming - Bevis Bowden Music - LoneLady Mastering - Adaq Khan Editing - Siddharth Khajuria & Tom Rosenthal Direction and Production - Siddharth Khajuria

In February 2011 instrumentalists from the Guildhall Symphony Orchestra and singers from the Guildhall Symphony Chorus came together in the Barbican Concert Hall under the baton of conductor James Gaffigan to perform Mahler's immense second symphony. Instrumentalists and singers were well prepared: sectionals with key players from the London Symphony Orchestra had given the players the benefit of hundreds of years of orchestral experience, while vocalists had taken time to explore the meaning, harmonies and tricky pronunciations of the text in this 'Resurrection' Symphony.
