I 모숨시네마채널: https://vimeo.com/channels/mosoomcinema I 모숨바로가기: www.mosoom.org Mosoom Cinema makes a short film that is about solar term in Korean farm. A solar term is any of 24 points in traditional East Asian lunisolar calendars that matches a particular astronomical event or signifies some natural phenomenon. The points are spaced 15° apart along the ecliptic and are used by lunisolar calendars to stay synchronized with the seasons, which is crucial for agrarian societies. The solar terms are also used to calculate intercalary months in East Asian calendars; which month is repeated depends on the position of the sun at the time. Mosoom Cinema will show Korean farm, farmers, chef, scientist and ordinary people in solar term. Through the Mosoom Cinema, we hope that you can feel nature's wonder.

This film is a Chinese version of https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aLI2KySC9-U. In April 2014, indigenous and ethnic minority farmers from Bhutan and China visited the Potato Park in Peru for a learning exchange on how to cope with climate change. They learned from the many biocultural innovations of the five Potato Park communities, which collectively conserve 1,460 varieties of potato. The film was produced as part of the SIFOR project (Smallholder Innovation for Resilience) in partnership with Asociacion ANDES (Peru), with funding from the European Union. On Sept. 18, 2008 Associated Press reporter Tracy Cone accompanied our project team to Vernal Falls in Yosemite Valley. NPS scientist Martin Hutten rappelled down the 300-foot sheer face of the falls with a climber from our team to gather samples from the vivid streaks of red, white, black and grey lichens on the wall. These beautiful streaks are covered with falling water and mist most of the year, and have never before been sampled. By learning what lichens exist in Yosemite National Park, scientists can use them to as "early warning systems" for detecting air and water pollution or impacts from climate change and biome shifts in the park. Climbers from The American Alpine Club are helping the National Park Service rangers preserve and protect Yosemite by working together with them on these types of "Citizen Scientist" projects. Climbers are also helping in other mountain regions of the world, such as in the Everest region of Nepal. Traditional ecological knowledge is being used in powerful combination with Western science to enhance the biodiversity and cultural values of wetlands in Kakadu National Park in Australia's Northern Territory. As part of the northern Australian Burning for Biodiversity project, we are working with the Bushfire CRC and a family of traditional owners in Kakadu National Park to examine the biodiversity and cultural benefits of Aboriginal fire management as it is re-applied to floodplains associated with the South Alligator River.
