1. Gray's Lake December

This is more of a test for my new Pocket Cinema Camera then anything else. No frills here and everything was handheld as you can tell with the camera movement. The grade was completed with Film Convert and the edit completed in Final Cut Pro X. The only lens used was the Panasonic 20mm f1.7. Gray's Lake is a popular location for summer activities near downtown Des Moines, IA. This was filmed during an unseasonably warm but gloomy Sunday early afternoon in December. The lighting and atmosphere seems like it might be good for a scary movie script.

"There are some things that I personally think should not be lost to the convenience of low-cost/high-speed consumer production. Most of the fabrics that make up my life (sheets, jeans, jackets, blankets, socks) all get pretty roughed up and, although it may take precious time out of my busy day, I would always prefer to take care of the items that have treated me well — that I love and have been a part of my personal history — by mending them and extending their lives. I may just be more sentimental than others but I am obsessed with the idea that fabric absorbs human energy by being used; through sweat, dirt, hair, wear and tear. Last night while patching a hole in my sheets, I thought of my mending as helping to create a visual composition, subconsciously directed by my sleeping patterns. I love that I don’t have to go to Ikea and buy new sheets for $30. I just find a nice piece of scrap fabric, and patch it up." - Addison Article from http://textileartscenter.com/blog/boro-sashiko-the-art-of-mending/ Music By | Helios - Bless This Morning Year Shot With | Canon EOS C100 Colors | ImpulZ LUTS by VisionColor / Davinci Resolve 11 Lite Produced and Art Directed by | Betaphats Studios® Concept by | Betaphats Studios®

A few quick test shots from the Blackmagic URSA testing low light and the new 80fps capability for my review for RedShark News (http://www.redsharknews.com). Shot with a project framerate of 25fps. Due to the type of flood lights I had to use a 270 degree shutter to avoid light flicker. This makes the motion a little more blurry than I would have liked, although it did help with the overall low lighting levels. Footage is untouched other than a basic OSIRIS 200T LUT. Lenses were a Canon 70-200 f/2.8 and a Zeiss CP.2 15mm T2.9 cine prime. Filming took place at Cardiff International White Water during an evening Boater X event.
