Residencies: Operaestate Festival Veneto, Cantieri Danza, Rifrazioni Festival. Selected work Anticorpi eXplo. Duration: 30 min Thanks to Teatro Comunale di Ferrara. The word XD is an emoticon that represents a smiling face, massively used in blogs, chat rooms and in general in the written telecomunications. The cross (that in this case are the twinkled eyes) is in every fragment of C/o project as a "place indicator". In XD it is a cartesian cross that defines the place of the sight. It is a X that works as a pointer addressing the spectator’s gaze, or as a cover on eyes of the performers, that are always filtered following the paradigma “who is seen cannot see”. The format shapes space and time in the structure of a comic. The stage is cutted apart in small frames of visual space establishing with the spectator a contract that allows to see as “in scene” (ob-seen) just what happens inside of those borders while everything else is purely functional, invisible, ob-scene. Teeth and a mechanic and cold hypersmile will be the fil rouge through a serie of references that goes from japanese manga comics to advertisement, pornography and fashion, drawing a body that aims to stay on the spectator’s retina as long as possible. “Complex and higly defined is the language of the young Francesca Pennini. She is author of a quartet that investigate derealization of the present and pornography of the gaze, themes developed with either ludic bidimensionality or livid cruelty and that now conquers the powerful cartoon imagery. Mixing famous stars and stripes superheroes with anonymous manga figurine, the scenic writing exposes the mechanisms of mercification that reduce the body to mere support of brands printed on the skin. And during the laughs you happen to realize that the obscene is not in the exposition of the flesh but in its progressive dematerialization.” [ Andrea Nanni “Non solo soli, cercando di evitare i calcinacci” 12/2010 ] “A pop art patina surrounds the conceptual work of CollettivO CineticO. Sinking in the colors of Roy Liechtenstein, diving in Andy Warhol serigraphies and in the recent sculpture by Takeshi Murakami the work twists the meanings in a dance that is at the same time abjuration and celebration of popular iconography; of its capability of creating virtual worlds, miths, heroes; of catching, writing, printing the spectator’s retina. The images created by CollettivO CineticO precipitate on the scene as a fall of significant signs never consisting in their real significate but fugitive and suspended in a state of significance. Once rediculed the heroes is left only the teeth whiteness, a bony grin, a forced smile; the obscenity of white bones with no emotion.” [Matteo Antonaci teatroecritica.net 12/2010 ] XD scritture retiniche sull’oscenità dei denti Concept e regia: Francesca Pennini Azione e creazione: Andrea Amaducci, Nicola Galli, Angelo Pedroni, Francesca Pennini. Residenze: Operaestate Festival Veneto, Cantieri Danza, Rifrazioni Festival.
