Silkworms spin a cocoon from one continuous thread wrapped countless times around their bodies. To harvest the thread, the silkworms not be allowed to transform into moths, they must be 'stifled', killed. This film explores the intricate processes and abbreviated life cycle of silkworms from hatching until cocooning while magnifying the interventions of nature and time. This film was commissioned by Yvette Hawkins as a part of her artwork 'Casing In' for York Museums Trust. She worked collaboratively with the silkworms to mend books given to York Museums Trust by the Madsen family and part of 'Finding the Value'.
