Today, I want to address another deadly disease that has infected the church and is wreaking havoc. This disease is a spiritual one called carnality. Paul addresses this disease in our text today. The Corinthian church was beset by all kinds of turmoil, division, pride, one-upmanship, and immorality. For those of you who are looking for the perfect church remember Corinth. There are no perfect churches just a perfect Savior who somehow uses imperfect people to accomplish His purposes in the world. The Corinthian church faced two intense realities. First, they faced the pressure of living in a thoroughly pagan culture. Corinth was a cesspool of idol worship and sexual immorality. In fact, many in the Corinthian church had been converted from profligate lifestyles (1 Cor. 6:9). Some were still being influenced by the pagan practices around them. In like manner, we also face the pressure of living in a pagan culture. We often identify the rampant sexual immorality and hostility toward God as the main threat to the church. However, it was not the external threat that Paul addressed, which was so deadly. It was the internal threat. At the root of the Corinthian church’s issues was not the pagan culture that surrounded them but the problem of carnal Christianity.

Visit us on Facebook, www.facebook.com/projectamore Don't Just Count Your Blessings... Share Them! In an effort to pay it forward to families in need, Cattura Event Photography is happy to announce “Project Amore’” – The main purpose of the project is to give away family portraits to families who can’t otherwise afford a professional photographer. In addition, Cattura Event Photography will make Project Amore a monthly event in which other vendors and private citizens are free to participate and give back to the less fortunate via donations such as food, clothing, and school supplies or offer their specialized services. Project Amore’s goal is to serve less fortunate families who could benefit from these generous donations provided by the community. Cattura Event Photography hopes that in time, Project Amore' will evolve from a free family portrait event to an event where the community can come together to give their time, pay it forward and spread love amongst their neighbors in need. But in this chapter, Paul clearly tells the church to judge one of their own. When are we supposed to judge and when shouldn't we? In this chapter Paul makes some principles very clear that seem to be commonly ignored by many Christians and churches. 1 Corinthians 5

It was in 2012 that the largely Muslim Seleka militia perpetrated an uprising in the Central African Republic, overthrowing the then President François Bozize and giving rise to a wave of crimes and persecution against the Christian community. Within the non-Islamic communities, this in turn led to the formation of Anti-Balaka armed militia groups who took revenge by massacring Islamic civilians. Although it seems that the media have forgotten it, the conflict continues to rage in Central Africa to this day, and despite the presence there of three international missions - Eufor-Rca, Sangaris and Minusca – religious hatred continues to cause bloodshed in the country. The Anti-Balaka militia groups control the West, including the capital, Bangui, where the Muslim community is confined to ghettoes, while the East is in the hands of members of the groups involved in the former Seleka rebellion, so the nation is divided into two. The government has proved incapable of overcoming the crisis, and the population is at the mercy of the armed factions. It is they who call the shots in Central African; they have brought the country to its knees and today continue to exacerbate the conflict, in an attempt to secure control over the resources in the subsoil of this tormented African nation.

Together with my partner Philip Brink, I went to Lebanon to collect and share stories of the Syrian refugees living in Lebanon. Nowadays this country counts 1.500.000 Syrians on a population of 4.000.000 Lebanese. We also gave our FB-friends the opportunity to be part of our journey by posting questions for Syrians. The answers to these questions can be found in 12 short films. The short films, photo stories, written interviews and more information can be seen here: http://www.mariekevandervelden.com/#/outside-syria/ Made in March 2015.
